Pre-Free Agency/Pre-Draft Predictions

It’s March! Every football fan knows the power March and April hold in the NFL. One reason I love the NFL so much is that it never ends. Football is a year round sport. For the past few months, mock drafts have come out, and free agency talk is all around us. I decided to try my hand in a little free acency/draft predicting. Let me make a disclaimer first, I’m not saying this is going to be absolutely correct. Somehow I came out with exactly 53 players on the roster, but I know there is error. Let me go over the list of current free agents.

QBs-Chad Henne, J.P. Losman-Both gone

RBs-Lex Hilliard, Steve Slaton-Lex stays, Steve goes

TE-Jaron Mastrud-Sticks around

OL-Vernon Carey, Lydon Murtha-Vernon’s tenure in Miami is over, but Lydon sticks through training camp

DL-Kendall Langford, Phillip Merling, Paul Soliai-Kendall goes to be with Mike Nolan in Atlanta, Marling’s trouble will be no longer, and Paul gets tagged again staying a Fin.

DB- Will Allen, Tyrone Culver-Will keeps his veteran leadership in Miami while Culver just doesn’t make the cut. Good special teamer but Clemons plays a little tougher.

LB-Ike Alama-Francis-Goodbye Ike, played tough, but the LB core is too deep.

Now the biggest question of all….who will be our QB? Drumroll……………………………………………………………………….

That’s right. Joe Philbin trumps Ross and gets the QB he wants. Manning is a huge risk considering he has not played in a west coast style offense. Flynn knows the system well and has grown over the past few years. Philbin will also get Flynn a new weapon in Mario Manningham.

Now for April and the draft. I’ve come up with a 7 round mock for the Dolphins. These were based on needs and look fairly good to me!

Round 1-Quinten Coples-DE North Carolina

Round 2-Zebrie Sanders-OT Florida State

Round 3-Kirk Cousins-QB Michigan State

Round 4-Aaron Henry-FS Wisconsin

Round 5-Nick Provo-TE Syracuse

Round 6-Jaye Howard-DT Florida

Round 7-Charles Mitchell-SS Mississippi State

Now for a post draft roster and possibly going in to the pre-season.

QB-Matt Flynn, Matt Moore, Kirk Cousins

RB-Reggie Bush, Daniel Thomas, Jerome Messam, Lex Hilliard

FB/TE-Charles Clay

TE-Anthony Fasano, Jeron Mastrud, Nick Provo

WR-Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess, Mario Manningham, Brian Hartline, Clyde Gates, Marlon Moore

OT-Jake Long, Zebrie Sanders, Lydon Murtha, Will Barker

OG-Richie Incognito, John Jerry, Nate Garner, Ryan Cook, Rey Fienga

C-Mike Pouncey

NT-Paul Soliai

DE-Ryan Baker, Jared Odrick, Tony McDaniel, Randy Starks

ILB-Kevin Burnett, Karlos Dansby, Marvin Mitchell

OLB-Cameron Wake, Koa Misi, Quinten Coples

Special Teams-Dan Carpenter, Brandon Fields, John Denney

Again, this is just a prediction. Just a little something to help pass by the time. Draft picks could be lost or gained and that was just too mind boggling to even try! Please let me know what you think!
